Eleventh Round of KGDP kicks off, Applications Open to Graduates Seeking Careers in Banking
Under the "Kafa’a" Initiative launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in cooperation with the Institute of Banking Studies and Kuwaiti banks, the Institute of Banking Studies will be receiving applications for the eleventh round of the Kuwaiti Graduates Development Program (KGDP) for those interested in a career in banking as of 10 October and until 17 November 2022.
This program provides recent graduates with the opportunity to train in the fields of banking, and seeks to build their skills through theoretical and field training over a year in Kuwaiti banks and in prominent international institutions.
The program also provides the participants with the opportunity to gain academic and professional experiences, to provide the banking sector with highly qualified young national cadres in this field.
The CBK Governor and IBS Board Chairman Basel A. Al-Haroon said that KGDP is a unique opportunity and among and the best options available to graduates wishing to enter the banking sector. This, he said, is due to the diversity of its content and the actual hands-on training it provides at Kuwaiti banks and other renowned institutions in the field. The IBS cooperates with international banks and institutions to provide high-level field training experiences for the trainees.
Regarding "Kafa’a" Initiative, Al- Haroon said its programs are catered to Kuwaitis employed in the finance and banking sector, as well as fresh graduates especially from finance, accounting, banking and economics majors. The initiative, he stressed, covers a wide array of topics and the training is mindful of global best practices. The applicants are selected objectively and with the specific needs of the banking and finance sector in mind.
In addition to the "Kafa’a" Initiative, the CBK shall continue to provide the best training and continue to emphasize national capacity building to ultimately boost the national economy, all within its strategy of aiming to support overall development in the State of Kuwait.
