The Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK), Dr. Mohammad Y. Al-Hashel, announced to the public the release of the Annual Report of the CBK for the fiscal year (FY) 2012/13. This 41st issue of the series of Annual Reports prepared and published by the CBK, contains as usual the CBK Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Account for the fiscal year ending 31 March 2013, and the Auditors' Report.

The Governor added that, the CBK's Annual Report for 2012/13 FY reviews in brief key developments in the monetary policy and monetary and banking indicators during the mentioned fiscal year, particularly relating to money supply, local interest rates, KD exchange rate, bank credit, aggregate balance sheet of local banks and investment companies. In addition, the Annual Report contains the main supervisory measures and directives issued by CBK, and major banking operations carried out during FY 2012/13. The Report also presents CBK's main initiatives for the enhancement of competency of CBK's manpower as well as measures taken toward modernization and upgrade of CBK's information technology infrastructure.

The Governor also pointed out that, this Annual Report encompasses CBK's efforts during FY 2012/13 in implementation of its projects as included in the government Medium Term Development Plan (2010-11/2013-14) and the Annual Plan for the mentioned fiscal year, noting that these projects are of ongoing nature and relate to the core objectives of the CBK.

The Governor concluded by pointing out that the Annual Report for 2012/13 FY is now available on the CBK official website (www.cbk.gov.kw).
